Originally from Ecuador and raised in the vibrant, diverse culture of Fort Lauderdale, Allan Buhl is an artist who brings deep meaning and craftsmanship to every piece he creates. With Latin and German roots and a lifelong passion for art sparked by his late cousin Gabriel, Allan’s path to tattooing has been both personal and purposeful.

Allan began his career with a traditional apprenticeship at the renowned Vatican Tattoo in Fort Lauderdale, training under respected artists and mastering every element of the craft—from bold line work and saturation to fine detail and composition. With over a decade of experience, Allan is now a well-rounded tattoo artist who specializes in black and gray realism, Chicano-style work, fine line tattoos, and bold American traditional designs. His work is known for its depth, precision, and emotional resonance—whether it’s a lifelike portrait, a floral design, or a custom piece built from a client’s story.

In 2020, Allan founded Heatwave Tattoo, a studio born out of passion, resilience, and a desire to create a space where artists and clients alike feel inspired and valued. For Allan, tattooing is more than a profession—it’s a labor of love. His shop is a reflection of that commitment: a family-driven, culturally inspired environment where artistry and authenticity thrive.

Outside the studio, Allan is a proud father, a beach lover, a traveler, and a creative spirit who finds inspiration in everything from music to life’s everyday moments. Fluent in English, Spanish, and German, he brings a global perspective to his work and a personal touch to every tattoo.
