To ensure the best results we’re going to give you some important healing instructions!
Tattoo Aftercare:
Keep it Clean:
Gently wash the tattooed area with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid scrubbing or using rough cloths.
Keeping the bandage on after You leave you Appointment
When your artist wraps your tattoo after you guys finish your session. the intention of it is to firstly protect the tattoo on your way home or to your destination. More importantly we leave it on there for at least an hour but no more that overnight. For example if it is a bigger tattoo and you end up finishing at night and need to catch a flight home. its best you leave it on till you reach your destination so it doesnt dry out the tattoo.
Cleaning the blood off and plasma
when the tattoo bleeds or emits plasma. this turns into a scab. scabs are results of the healing process but can complicate things for tattoos. you dont want to let blood dry up over your tattoo. this could lead to unnecessary scabs that can get snagged on clothing and torn off. which can lead to the worst, loss of pigment and even scarring.
Keep it Clean:
Gently wash the tattooed area with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid scrubbing or using rough cloths.
Pat Dry:
After washing, gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean, soft towel. Avoid rubbing or scratching the area.
Apply a Thin Layer of Ointment:
Use a tattoo-specific aftercare ointment recommended by your artist or an unscented, water-based lotion to keep the tattoo moisturized and promote healing.
Avoid Picking or Scratching:
Refrain from picking scabs or scratching the tattooed area, as it can lead to color loss and scarring.
Keep it Hydrated:
Moisturize the tattoo regularly, but don't overdo it. Apply the ointment or lotion when the tattoo feels dry or tight.
Protect from the Sun:
Avoid direct sunlight for at least two weeks. After it's healed, always use a high SPF sunscreen to protect the tattoo from fading.
Avoid Swimming:
Stay away from swimming pools, hot tubs, and the ocean during the healing process to prevent infection.
Avoid Tight Clothing:
Wear loose, breathable clothing to avoid unnecessary friction on the tattooed area.
SLEEPING:
IF your tattoo is still bleeding the initial night that you come home with you tattoo it is very important that you dont sleep on top of it. It can and WILL get stuck to your sheets or pillows and dry overnight and then when you wake up you will peel the tattoo open in trying to separate the tattoo from what ever its bonded to. the first night this can be avoided by simply wrapping it with a clean piece of saran wrap after you wash it well with antibacterial soap and pat dry it. PLEASE avoid the blood sticking to anything.
Stay Hydrated:
Drink plenty of water to help the healing process from the inside out.
